Birthday Celebration(s)

So it happened....he's 2! 

We had such a great time celebrating our man on several occasions.
One thing I can't get accustomed to, living 3 hours from family, is not having them on special days!  But thankfully....we have made some great friends here that help fill that void for me.  Mateo's birthday was proof!

Mateo's birthday started out with morning snuggles and a present of course!  We went to a friends for a play date, and seriously, it so great.  Corrin made muffins complete with a candle for Mateo!  And even got M a present.  I was blown away with her generosity and making the play date special for his birthday.  We had a great time playing with Elliot, Ethan, Reagan & Madison!  Our evening was filled with cake, ice cream, and our sweet neighbors!  We enjoyed time watching our sweet boy enjoy their company.  I'm so thankful for our friends who love our 2 year old as much as we do!

Bianca made a video singing Happy Birthday to Mateo!  We watched it...100 times as he loved it.

Saturday we had a family party for Mateo.  Theme....MONSTERS!  It was actually quite fitting, as he's been quite a bear recently.  I'm blaming it on 2 year molars...I like to think we are going to skip the "terrible" twos and turn them into "terrific" twos.  :)
We started off the day with Mateo's 2 year pictures...we will share ASAP!  And the party started at 4.
