He is RISEN!

"Christ has risen from the dead, we are one with him again come awake!  Come Awake! Come and rise up from the grave"

What a perfect reminder this Easter, as we remember Jesus dying on the cross for our sins.  I especially love Mateo's take on it.

Me:  Who died on the cross for us?

M:  God

Me:  Yes...Jesus died on the cross for us.

M:  Me?

Me:  Yes, Jesus died on the cross for you!

M:  Daddy?

Me:  Yes, Jesus did on the cross for Daddy!

M:  And Mommy?

Me:  Yes...he did for mommy too.

M:  And God for Moe Moe.

Me:  Yes!  Jesus died on the cross for Moe Moe too.

and it continues and he lists people (and animals) he thinks of. :)

It's been so fun this year being able to share God's goodness with Mateo and for him to actually get it!  Well, what a 2 year old can comprehend.  

We celebrated Easter with my family Friday night.  It was a quiet, but fun gathering!  I love Mateo being able to spend time with his grand and great grand parents.  The Easter morning festivities were also a ton of fun with Mateo!  His first Easter Egg hunt, at my mom and dad's on Easter morning....kind of a bust!  There were eggs and his basket lying on the floor...and he just stared and then went about his business!  Even after we showed him there were toys/candy in the eggs....there was no interest!  :)  He did enjoy the goodies in his Easter basket.  The first stop in his Easter basket?  An Elmo bowl full of M&M's.  

Sunday we went to church with my Grandma.  There's something about hearing the hymns I grew up with on Easter morning that is so special.  "He Lives, He Lives, Christ Jesus Lives today!"

Lunch was spent with the Gracia family.  Our time was spent with food, food, food and Easter Egg hunts!

Love or Hate?  Never sure with these two!

  Thanks to all of our family for the spoils and love over the weekend.  We feel so blessed to have so many people who love our little man and us.  So thankful we have holidays to get everyone together.
