A Day at the Park

It was such a perfect day outside that I decided to take Mateo and head to a park.  We headed to a new park today and it was pretty neat.  The park was handicapped accessible so Mateo was able to run up and down all of the equipment.  Here is some of the fun we had today!  :)

For part of the time Mateo played on the play equipment...

Other times he watched the Bobcat level out the ground and watched other kids playing in the park.

A break and snack were needed after playing hard!

It's always fun exploring new places too!

A few days ago Mateo starting using everything as swords (spoons, forks, pool noodle, etc.).  Today he figured sticks would be a good sword too!

And finally he helped clean up the parks by finding some plastic forks on the ground to play with!  What a helper!

When we left the park, high school students were leaving school.  There were all kind of students coming out and I couldn't help my mind wander and think about who Mateo will be in 16 years.  Will he be the boy who follows the rules?  The boy who helps others?  Or the one who skates, plays ball, or is in the band?  Will Mateo struggle with school or be a tutor?  I then thought about the hour we had at the park and his sweet innocence and thought it's my job to mold him into a young man.  For now...I'll say my prayers, ask for God's grace, and enjoy these park days with my baby.
