Our sweet boy into the world and God's perfect timing. Monday, March 21 I awoke with some pretty frequent contractions. Not strong, so I didn't think too much of it since they had been happening off and on for a few weeks. An hour later, as Jeremiah was preparing to leave for work, things were getting stronger so he called into work. Things quickly got more intense and after chatting with the doctor, we all decided it was time to head to the hospital (no one wanted to deliver a baby in the car, considering how quickly Gabriella came!). We all ate breakfast, Jeremiah walked the kiddos down to our neighbors and off we went to the hospital (contractions strong and consistent).
It was such a calm and peaceful experience! Praising God for His timing and allowing me to experience this natural birth.
We had the sweetest nurse, Deb, who had a NW Ohio connection. She was calm, patient, humorous, and encouraging. I appreciated her care and comfort so much.
I went in at 8 cm, got an epidural around 9 cm and starting pushing around 11:20. Our sweet Malachi was born and I must say, I think Jeremiah and I were both a little shocked it was a boy.
We are so thankful for he tremendous amount of help from mom, dad and all of our friends who pitched in to help with the kiddos and provide us with food. What a comfort it is to have such a loving and generous community to do life with.
