1 Wedding & A Birthday

There was so much anticipation going into this past week (in my perspective) and let me just say it did not disappoint!  We had a weeding of a high school friend, family in from Connecticut and a birthday party for my grandma!  (Dare I say how old she is...okay...she's 80!)  But of course she looks more like 60.

Friday night Jeremiah and I were able to enjoy a night out with some long time friends without our sweet boy.  Our good friend Erika gave up her night without  her husband or daughter...to watch Mateo!  Seriously!?  God has blessed me with some sweet friends here in Cbus.  Anyways...we had a great time celebrating the wedding of Mitch Smith, a good friend from high school, and his beautiful wife Sarah at the Athletic Club in downtown Columbus.  It was a beautiful  place!  Don't believe me?  Check out the Athletic Club's website!  We parked ourselves at a hidden bar with Dwayne next to the door where all of the servers would come with the hor's derves.  Mmm...I can still taste the water chestnuts wrapped in bacon.  We were able to enjoy a meal without chasing a toddler or getting food thrown at us, enjoy some tunes from 2000, and catch up with friends we just don't see enough.  SO MUCH FUN!

Saturday we got up bright and early to head north.  We were able to bond with my family from Connecticut before we set up for gma's birthday party.  The theme of the party, zebra and turquoise of course!  We really had a great time bonding with family, family friends and hearing stories from her past.  One of my favorite stories I heard was the time gma and gpa were coming home from a festive night and gma wanted a cigarette.  The problem?  Her and gpa had decided they were going to quit since they were going to become grandparents (to the 1 and only me), so gpa wouldn't give her one.  What did grandma do?!  That's right...threw a beer at him.  For those of you who don't know my grandparents...this pretty much sums up their relationship.  Grandma is full of spunk and sass and my grandpa...well lets just say he was pretty close to sainthood!
We also got to meet up with my cousin Ashlee who we haven't seen in 13 years!  Sad I know.  But it was so great reconnecting with her and her family.  Grandma's party can be summed up in 1 word - success!  Here are some photos to prove it.
Here are cousins M & Daisy (M is 1 month older)

We spent the rest of the weekend outside and bonding with family!  These are the reasons that make life so fun.  Looking forward to more family time this weekend with Thanksgiving...man do I have a lot to thank God for.

Watching the big guys (and girl) cut up some wood.  Mateo loved spending guy time out in the woods with the guys.  He was so tired after a long walk...he took 2 naps!

Mmm...ice cream with cousin Isaiah & Grandpa Gracia to top off the weekend!
